Phoenix has implemented a new username policy to only allow letters, numbers, periods, and underscores. This is related to the integration of the Hypothesis annotation tool.
I would advise everyone to update their username if it contains spaces or special characters, excluding periods and underscores, or you might experience problems using the app.
There are certain backward-compatibility protections in place to prevent these problems, but if you have an issue, feel free to let us know here.
