Case Proposal: Cookies are used

I propose the following data to be a new case:

Description	This service uses cookies. This case should be used if a service says they use cookies, but do not provide any extra information.

Examples:
As I mentioned in another topic, it would be good to have a general cookie quote

Although I do think having a more general case for cookies would be a good idea to help here, and also just overall. I’ve come across lots of Privacy Policies where they say they use cookies but then don’t provide the detailed information that TOSDR cases are looking for.

I don’t have any examples right now, but I’m sure many other editors have seen the same thing.
I’ve put it as neutral for now, since cookies are not necessarily used for tracking and other nefarious purposes, but suggestions are welcome.

I agree with your proposal. A generic case is definitely needed.
As its meaning is close to Case 126: First-party cookies are used, how about changing the phrasing instead of creating a new case?

I like that idea, especially since it seems like that’s what it’s already being used for.

The phrasing could change to my original suggestion “Cookies are used”

I think that it’d be more informative if the case title were “Ambiguous use of cookies.”. Will definitely be using this one.
